Even firemen have fun!

Last week I met a friend for breakfast. We were sitting at a table, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Sitting at the next table was a group of eight sophisticated gentlemen; they where sharing stories, laughing and teasing each other. Between our two tables we created enough laughter to fill a stadium. As the gentlemen got up to go pay their bills, one of them came over to our table and said “it was a pleasure eating breakfast sitting close to you ladies”. We said thank-you, and laughed some more.

I asked the gentleman to tell me about the gang he was having breakfast with. He told me that they where all retired firemen. He continued to say “Laughter is the most important thing in my life; I have never gone to a fire that was not fun” It took me some time to understand. He continued to explain: “Every time I have gone to a fire, I have always managed to find something that was fun. Sometimes we have to pick-up dead bodies; that is horrible. We deal with the serious stuff and then we find something that is fun

That man made my day! He reminded me that even in the most difficult situations there is some fun! I just have to find it!

Have a good day!
